Safety guide
Dating safely, close to home
Meeting people from your own area is wonderful — and it also means taking a little extra care. Here's how Galomira Dating protects you, and how you can protect yourself.
How the app protects you
- No distances, ever: others only see the name of your area, or that the two of you share a neighborhood.
- Your exact location is never stored, and GPS data is removed from your photos.
- Either of you can say hi, but one message until the other person replies — and nobody can leave more than ten conversations hanging.
- Block anyone, anytime — the block also applies in Galomira.
- Reports are reviewed by people and every report also blocks the person for you.
- Pause your profile whenever you need a break.
Before you meet
- Keep the conversation in the app until you feel comfortable.
- Never share your home address, workplace, or daily routine early on.
- Never send money, gift cards or crypto — no matter the story.
- Consider a short video call first.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, unmatch or report.
When you meet
- Meet in a busy public place — a café, not a home.
- Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Arrange your own way there and back.
- Keep your drink with you and stay in control.
- Leave whenever you want. You don't owe anyone your time.
Community guidelines
- Be yourself: real name, real age, recent photos.
- Be kind. Respect a "no" and an unanswered message.
- Keep it appropriate — no nudity or sexual content.
- No hate, harassment, threats or scams.
- 18+ only. Report anyone who seems younger.
If something goes wrong
Report the person from their profile or your chat, and email support@galomira.com if you need help. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number (112 in the EU and Türkiye) right away.
